DESCRIPTION:

SUMMARY:

Under general direction, provides consultation to business area management and staff at the highest technical level for all aspects of end user computing and PC/Workstation based LAN systems software and hardware. Provides technical support and guidance to client and systems areas through consulting, teaching and publication of documentation. Monitors project status from start to completion. Coordinates the purchase of selected vendor hardware and software.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Provides customer-facing support within business office for all aspects of end user computing and network-based PC/Workstation systems software and hardware.
  2. Performs complex maintenance tasks, troubleshoots and repairs computer systems and peripheral equipment; documents and applies standard solutions.
  3. Performs troubleshooting & diagnosis of complex desktop computing software incidents; documents & applies standard solutions.
  4. Collaborates with level three support staff in troubleshooting, diagnosis and developing resolutions for complex issues; coordinates staff testing and implementation of solutions.
  5. Acts as technical resource for L2 staff in troubleshooting, diagnosing and resolving complex incidents for all aspects of end user computing and network-based PC/Workstation systems software and hardware.
  6. Ensures continued availability and reliability of the desktop computing environment within a business office by proactively monitoring performance and responding appropriately to deviations from expectation
  7. Consults with IT staff on the usage of end user computing systems and network-based PC/Workstation software and hardware, systems security, recovery and back-up procedures.
  8. Conducts trending of reported incidents, conducts root cause analysis and develops recommended solutions.
  9. Evaluates, maintains, modifies and documents PC application packages, including remote connectivity products, participates in the testing and evaluation of new PC packages, implements prototypes, and consults with clients on packages selection and equipment.
  10. Participates in, or may lead, projects relating to development and implementation of new products and product life cycle upgrades.
  11. Supports corporate real estate initiatives within a business office.
  12. Identifies opportunities for and leads process improvement initiatives.
  13. Performs related duties as assigned or requested.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

Bachelor's Degree in a technical or business discipline or equivalent experience

Min 5 years experience with: Level 1 Help Desk support; configuring and troubleshooting desktops and laptops; in the use of Microsoft products: SMS, SharePoint and SCCM; use of Symantec products: Back-up Exec and Anti-virus; SQL management - 2000, 2005, 2008; Network Attached Storage and min 3 years experience in implementing and configuring VMWare

Experience in networking - Cisco Routers, Switches, Firewall, ASA, VoIP.

Extensive knowledge of IT concepts, strategies, methodologies, practices& procedures of operating systems and subsystems and/or telecommunication technologies

Applications are built using ASP.NET, C# on a SQL Server and/or Oracle database. Superior knowledge and expertise required must have strong business acumen to match technical prowess. Must be an expert in web application design, web development with .NET and stored procedures, able to learn quickly and communicate with non-technical business contacts professionally with a strong English language capability, both oral and written. The work in this position involves more customization of existing software than development of brand new applications.

DESCRIPTION:
The Developer is responsible for content management and defining, extending, and coding the architecture of client and Server Side solutions to support the organization's websites. The Developer is responsible to lead projects, which includes content strategy, content analysis, XML development, and updating content on a regular basis. This responsibility includes, but is not limited to the development and use of: the Template Management System (TMS), the Content Tool, Targeted Offers, product applications, and financial planning tools. The Developer must be able to review and digest business requirements and objectives on given projects, and translate wire frames and specifications into robust and completed systems. A strong understanding of web technologies, content modelling, and content/technical architecture is required.

Key Accountabilities:

Lead projects and daily changes to the organization's web properties.

Code XML and XHTML content; upload content into database using the Content Tool.

Apply content management best practices and principles including, content reusability, flexibility, extensibility, maintainability and naming convention standards.

Forecast potential issues within projects/operations that may negatively impact customers, and provide solutions.

Develop a project content solution to ensure that long-term business objectives are met.

Develop or enhance the Content Tool and associated databases and processes.

Develop Targeted Online Offers using XHTML and XForms

Provide leadership to the management and development teams in areas related to content management systems, databases, processes, and web technologies in general.

Contribute to and document coding standards, and content management best practices including accessibility standards.

Assist, advise, and train junior team members.

Proactively schedule to accommodate timelines, lead other team members assigned to same project, actively communicate issues to manager and project manager.

May be required to develop TMS templates, financial planning tools, online product applications, and support sites in TMS.

Knowledge/Requirements/Skill:


3+ years experience working on Internet projects and applications

University degree in Computer Science or a related field (Or applicable work experience)

Deep experience of Content Management Systems (CMS) or Web Content Management Systems (WCM or WCMS), Component Content Management Systems (CCMS), and content architectures

Deep experience and understanding of XHTML, XML, XSLT, XSD, and JavaScript.

Experience and understanding of XForms, ASP and SQL preferred.

Experience and understanding of user experience issues, Internet design principles, W3C standards, and accessibility issues, is an asset.
