Oracle/Java Developer - Corporate Actions - Investment Bank - Toronto

A strong Oracle database developer with highly developed data analysis skills, strong core Java development experience and specific expertise in Corporate Actions data is urgently required to join a growing team within a leading Toronto based Investment Bank.

The successful candidate will have a minimum of five years experience in Oracle including PL/SQL development, packages, functions. You will also have a minimum of three years core Java development experience and a good understanding of design patterns.

Experience in the following technologies is also required:
Perl, XML, Unix (Solaris/Linux); web technologies.

You will have prior experience of working in the Investment Banking industry with a focus on securities reference data used within Equity Trading Systems. You will have worked with client reference data and metadata.

• Interact with clients and inspect office to gather needs/issues relating to their current system/network setup.
• Assemble and document system/technical/network requirements.
• Perform systems testing.
• Provide feedback on cost analysis, design considerations and implementation time-lines.

Things You Need to Have:

• Post-secondary education in Computer Science.
