Job Description: The Global IQX is currently seeking a candidate to fill a Business Analyst
position. Business Analyst brings at least 2 years experience in the Financial
Services Industry. Experience in Insurance (Group Life & health, Specialty)
is preferred. You have worked in a business and technical capacity in the
collection of requirements, the design, testing and documentation of complex
business systems.
The Business Analyst must be willing and able to travel internationally to
work on projects on-site, from 0% to 50% of the time, depending on the project.
The Business Analyst plays a critical role throughout client projects, from
the Inception to the Transition phase, and works closely with clients and the
Global IQX team to deliver top-quality solutions.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Attend client requirement
gathering and gap analysis meetings.
Conduct review of client
requirements documents.
If the client is responsible
for gathering and documenting requirements: review and finalize business
requirements, including business process flow, user interface
requirements, product rules, business process rules and data element
rules, Use cases and, non functional requirements.
Support from data mapping
analysis.
Support reports data mapping
analysis.
Support interface data
mapping analysis.
Create Analysis and design
documents for Global IQX Software solutions.
Develop and implement
business rules using Global IQX 's software - for rating, referrals,
underwriting, re-assignments, forms attachment, reporting and business
flow.
Support the creation and
validation of functional and integration test cases.
Support and participate in
test execution and other QA activities.
Review
Functional/Transaction Design Documents created by developers.
Provide Project Manager with
status, issue, risk, scope creep updates.
Escalate issues/risks to
Project Manager as appropriate.
Provide input to project
estimates.
Provide input to R&D
regarding Product Enhancement Requests (PER) and Project Change Requests
(PCR).
Plan and execute knowledge
transfer to client resources.
Develop and document
expertise in insurance applications.
Ensure application meets
client requirements.
Create system specifications
as needed to support client development requests (e.g., use cases,
information and process models, screen layout and navigation, business
rules).
Participate in projects and
work with clients to understand their business needs and to resolve
business issues (interviews, JAD sessions, documentation analysis).
Participate in
cross-functional teams to identify and document functional requirements,
workflow, information sources and distribution paths, and system
specifications. Evaluate existing Global IQX applications, which could
address client requirements and develop recommendations where appropriate.
Conduct training and system
demos. Working knowledge of ACORD/LOMA standards.
Job Requirements:
Qualifications
Post Secondary education in
either Computer Science or Business Administration or equivalent years of
related work experience.
2 - 5 years of product
management experience.
2 - 5 years of software
product development experience.
Knowledge of the group
insurance/ employee benefit industryo Detailed knowledge of the software
development life cycle.
Experience writing detailed
use cases and designing web based user interfaces.
Working knowledge of HTML.
Strong logic, analytical,
and problem solving skills o Advanced interpersonal skills to coordinate
major activities.
Strong presentation skills
and comfortable in presenting before peers and clients.
Strong sense of initiative
and detail.
Demonstrated ability to
work independently under pressure, managing several projects
simultaneously with minimal supervision.
Travel is required.
