As a team member, you would assist in developing and designing J2EE-based foundation and applications for the insurance industry. The Software Engineering Team will be responsible for understanding technical requirements, architected platforms and design implementations. The software platform is used for developing and deploying loosely coupled solutions using J2EE technologies. The daily duties will be (but are not limited to):

• Design and develop advanced software platforms and applications using Java/J2EE technologies
• Ability to lead other members of the team to assist with complete design reviews, debugging assistance, brainstorming, code reviews and process enforcement
• Willingness and ability to perform other software development lifecycle activities such as maintenance, design documentation, testing and roll-out to clients on an as needed basis
• Ability to provide functional use of enterprise web application development with J2EE technologies such as Spring or Hibernate
• Ability to comprehend and monitor complicated tasks through a full life cycle and the ability to mentor other team members throughout that same life cycle

Qualifications needed to successfully fulfill the position:

• A Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, and Computer Engineering is a must with a master's degree preferred
• Start-up company experience with established software lifecycle management exposure is a must
• Minimum of 5 years hands-on software development experience in an enterprise software product organization
• Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in advanced Java/J2EE development using technologies such as EJB, Spring, SOAP, WSDL, XML and JMS
• Minimum of 3 years with Object-relational database design and implementation with technologies such as Hibernate
• Strong experience with J2EE Application server such as WebSphere and WebLogic
• Relational databases such as DB2, Oracle, MS SQL and MySQL
• Experience with SVN for version control and Eclipse IDE for development
• Experience with UML and code generation
• Strong use of Multi-platform development on Windows and Linux
• Must be a self starter and skilled trouble-shooter
• A results-oriented team player that can work with minimal supervision
• Solid verbal and written communication skills are a must
