Job Description:

Working out of our Thornhill Head Office location, this role supports the Information Technology department and reports to the Director of Technical Services.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
* Providing Team members with appropriate professional development opportunities, consistent direction and clear reporting structure.
* Designing and implementing short- and long-term strategic plans to make certain network and telecom capacity meets existing and future requirements.
* Develop, implement, and maintain policies and procedures for network resource and telecommunications administration and their appropriate uses.
* Develop and deploy methodologies for testing network and telecom systems performance and providing statistics and reports.
* Practice network asset management, including maintenance of network component inventory and related documentation.
* Work with Director, Technical Services to prepare the Network and Telecommunications budget.
* Conduct research and make recommendations on network and telecommunications products, their services, protocols, and standards in support of network procurement and development efforts.
* Manage and ensure optimal operation of all network and telecom hardware and equipment, including routers, switches, hubs, PBX's, BCMs, extenders and so on.
* Establish and maintain regular written and in-person communications with IT Leadership regarding pertinent network activities.
* Ensure that the Business Recovery systems are maintained in a constant state of readiness.
* Negotiate contracts with vendors.

Job Requirements:
The successful candidate for this position will have a minimum of a Bachelor of Science, Computer Studies, related degree/experience and/or CISSP certification.

* 5 years experience managing and configuring enterprise-wide LANs, WANs, WLANs, VPNs.
* Network certifications (eg. CCNA, CCIE) and/or IT Security certifications are assets.
* We are also looking for someone with experience with:
Ethernet, switching, Routing (OSPF) & TCP/IP, spanning three, VLAN's, 802.1x, Wireless, WiMax, switches, routers (Cisco platform), Firewalls (Cisco and Checkpoint.
* Experience on design high profile Web based services, load balancing, caching, BGP.
* Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
